Default revs with no accleration

While in gear going around 2000rpms I'll give the slightest touch to the gas pedal and it will jump to 4500-5000 rpm with no acceleration. I have to pedal the throttle to get the rpms to drop back down. Could this be the TPS or some other problem?

It's a manual transmission and I thought the clutch might be slipping but it's not hard to put in gear and the clutch pedal isn't stiff

Clutch slipping has little effect in selecting gears or pedal stiffness, if anything it makes things a little easier, but eventually the car is not going to move. Once the lining is worn off the clutch disk the metal parts of the disk are going to chew up the flywheel and cause it to get replaced or resurfaced. Get the clutch fixed before you get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

and, since she'll be up in the air for this, it's a good time to replace the u-joints, the rear main seal of the engine, change the rear end fluid and replace pinion seal if leaking.

if you have a two piece drive shaft have a look around for a one piece shaft from any 4th gen, its a direct replacement.

just eyeball it to make sure there aren't a lot of dents and that the weight(s) didn't fall off. You don't want an unbalanced drive shaft unless of course you have some old fillings in the teeth that you are trying to shake loose. Once people are of the mindset that they no longer need the driveshaft or you find one in the boneyard, let's just say that they aren't treated gingerly.

Lhh yeah Ik what you mean but I have a solid drive shaft already. Hopefully I can drop the tranny tommorow only a couple bell housing bolts left dont have much time Rn to work on it between work and school. Then I get to time my clutch and hopefully have it running by work on this weekend.
