How much bearing clearance did you end up with in the front main bearing. If you had too much the front seal is never going to seal right. It would have to be pretty bad to get a dripping.

Did you check the oil pan for flatness? When I get repeat oil leaks it is either from too much back pressure in the motor or at some point someone over tighened the bolts on a cover/pan and cause a warp and when the gasket is finally repalced it can not seal. When ever I need to seal Cover/pan I use a straigh edge to make sure it is not damages, most of the time there are raised spots around the bolts. If its too much back pressure your just screwed. You can fix one leak but it will just pop open the next weakest seal.

how would i go about checking for back pressure?

Just take off you oil cap at idle. Does it does it seem like a lot of air pushing out. Maybe check a few cars you know are in good shape to get an idea what it should be.

Remember any pressure you build at idle is 10 fold pulling a hill.
