rear end

Default rear end

hey my rear end knocks when i go up a hill any help? it sounds like the driveline or the rear end we replaced all the bearings in the rear end and thats when it started but it only happens when i hit a big bumb or im on a hill thanks

are you positive of the sound's location? I have never done any work with rear ends myself, but I know that even a slight error in installation will destroy the rear pretty quick. if its coming from inside the rear id pull everything back out immediately and make sure your back lash is set correctly.

You replaced all the bearings? Axles, inner & outer pinion, and carrier...all?
If you didn't put it all together with a fairly good bit of rearend knowledge, as well as proper tools such as a dial indicator to set the bearing and gear lash, then I'm not surprised if it makes noise. If you just slapped the thing back together with your eyes closed (literally), then I would have it looked at by somebody who does rearends for a living. If it wasn't set-up right...she could eventually blow apart!

no we didnt just slap it together with our eyes closed lol i wish tho and all the bearings but what i think what could be it is the back lash the one who took it apart in the first place he had a dial indicator but thats it and alot of other tools that he said was right for the job but thats what i get huh but i took it apart today and there a little more wear there there was the first time and the last time we took it apart was about 800 miles ago so besides taking to someone how do i fix the back lash ?and another thing when i was tightening the spider pinion bolt and the hold diff was moving not alot but just enough to were i would know that its know right you know but .. anything will help
