Quicker V6?

Quicker V6?
I'm really upset that I can't get a SS because I don't qualify for it cuz I'm trying to finance one. But oh well better this way money wise. So other then the stuff I put on my car, is there anything else I can do to my Maro to make it quicker? ?

Just drive your car as it is man, save up the money and then down the road make a bigger down payment or find a car in your price range that you can buy out right. You dont want to put money into a car you dont REALLY want.

Add a Whisper air lid and an SLP CAI and you will notice the car wake-up a bit...
There are plenty of other things you can do, but this is the easiest.

I'm kind of interested as to what a whisper lid is myself, I don't want anything that will make it look like I've got anything done to the car though, that's why I'm keeping the stock single tip muffler. even getting wheels was a stretch for me.
and there is always the option of turbo...
now to put in my two cents
Ford is about to produce a twin turbo V6 mustang that produces the same power as the GT. now I know most of us (includig myself) don't care anything about wha ford does. Having said that, maybe it would be nice to take a page out of their book and build somethig with that layout. I know it's not an SS, but with fuel cost as high as it is, and believe me $4 per gallon will be back in the near future, it might make more sense.

The whisper is a great mod for the money and with a K&N filter you will notice a difference. If your trying to go faster the 19inch rims are probably not helping you much. There is a good size market of aftermarket for the 3.8 every thing from cams and heads to full long block services. If your looking to beef her up a little bit get the lid (120 bucks or so) then you can start looking into a good cam and springs to wake her up a bit more. Also gears are always a good investment as long as you have a LSD rear. If not picking up a 10 bolt out of any ls1 car is cheap. I have one for sale for 350 ready to bolt up. Nitrous, turbo, sc are also options. If you car is a auto then a good converter could cut some big time off your 1/4. So yeah i guess you could say there are a few things you could do.

I dont see ford producing a V6 turbo that would be direct competition with the GT that would just be retarded on there part. Also you need to keep in mind the new V6 camaro has a base price of around 22,000-23,000 comes with a 300+ HP DOHC engine and slandered 6 speed auto or 6 speed stick vs fords week 5 speed. With that kind of set up it could be giving the GT a run for its money for a lot less. I cant see Ford produce a V6 turbo mustang for less then 25,000 and once again i dont see them allowing it to produce more then the 3 valve 4.6 right now at a respectful 315 horses.
Just my 2 cents
