Is it possible for a fuel pump to be going out (like work sometimes and not work some times)? Or does have to either work or not?

 

my experience is that they can and will weaken at times until finally just giving out, other times its either works or doesn't. But that experience is in the older cars, not sure about those new fangled computer operated models.......

 

I thought mine was going out last week and from what i heard the new ones still work sometimes then freak out simetimes..is it doing it after driving for a while or just at random?

 

My car acts real weird. What it does is: When I start it runs rough, then if i drive and come back park and kill my car it will not start back up, all it does is crank acts like its not getting fire. Then if I give it gas it will start and just die even if i leave the foot to the floor.

I have changed the computer kinda seemed it could be it, changed coil packs, spark plugs and plug wires, fuel relay. All kinds of things. Let me know watcha think

 

Do you hear the fuel pump kick on and pump fuel after you try to start it the second time? A guy i know had a rice rocket that would do someting similar.. It never ran rough but if yo wold kill it then try to start it up it would just crank and crank unless you smacked the underside of the dash on the passenger side lol..

I dont hear it the second time. Im going to go ahead and change it because thats what I personally think it is.
