Default questions about my 3800

ok first im wondering why my gas mileage is low i drive slow take off slow and im still only getting 18-19 with that i shoulda bought a z. i think part of this is that my egr is not connected to the exhuast manifold i just have connected a tube to the bottom of the egr and ran that tube to a filter. my egr is pulling in clean air is this why my mileage is a little low?

another question is i installed a cai just one off ebay a while back ever since i did this when i start up when the engine is cold sometimes i get a really loud sound coming from the intake is sounds like there is a bearing out inside the engine but with 193k on it thats not that far fetched just wondering what you think about it.

one last question would seafoam help my car or not

Bigger question is - how's the exhaust? If it's on the stock cat, perhaps it's plugged.

EGR valve should not pull clean air. If it not hooked up to the exhaust then plug it. Any time you let air into the intake that did not pass the MAF sensor you cause problems. If you are leaning out a couple of cylinders you would force the computer to adjust the engine as a whole.

If you have been running your car like this for awhile there is a good chance you have damaged your cat and now your Cat is causing most of your issues. If your cat is in the process of plugging your car should feel sluggish at WOT.
