alright...due to my *cough* fixed income (cause im a HS student) i'm resorting to local junkyards to upgrade my '95 6 banger (3.4L) into an 8. the only problem is that the yard that I'm going to doesn't have any Z's. What other cars/trucks have lt1 powerplants i can swap for? and what should i do to my tranny (i believe its the 4L60E) before i swap. also...any suggestions on a "new" rearend? would a 12 bolt fit on my stock suspension? what cars come with one? and anyother suggestions (i.e. stall converter, drive shaft, etc etc)?

 

Look in the V6 to V8 swap: how to. Sticky lol... But yeah I believe you will have to at least beef up the whole drivetrain to handle the extra ponies.

 

i wouldnt know this but for reading it a zillion times. it will be cheaper to sell the 6er and buy a z. u gotta change a mess of stuff.

 

Maybe swap the 3.4 for a 3.8...
