Putting in AC
hey everyone, i have a 94 3.4 camaro. it's the base model so it's not even set up for AC. i would like to put one in, but would it be worth the hassle or would it be better to just get another camaro with one installed? thanks!

i may be mistaken but all the 4th gens came with ac your was probably deleted due to failure or some dumb kid thinking it will free up hp... as for an entire new system youll be looking in the 1000-1500$ range just for parts

Your best option would be to get one with a/c. The other option would be to find a wreck car that has ac and take the parts off that you need. The last option is to roll your windows down half way and drive really fast.

A/C isn't really a "must" but when it comes to hot summers, it helps with the "comfort ability" measures. Installing an AC system in the car can be troublesome and time consuming, your best bet, if you want A/C, is to go ahead and buy one with it already factory installed. Im sure there isn't much of a difference in cost

Here's an interesting tidbit of info.
Total number of 1994 Camaros built: 119,934.
Total number of RPO C60 (air conditioning) sold at a cost of $895: 118,567.
That makes 1,367 1994's that came without A/C (just a hair over 1.1%).

Does that make it worth more?

History shows when it comes to rare options in V6's all you get is bragging right. When comes down to dropping money its still a V6. I was looking for a winter unit one year and happened on a 86 RS cavalier with AC delete. It was 3 year old with 31K on it. I was told the old guy that ordered it hated AC but he bought the RS package with the digital dash. I got the car for $3,000. If it had AC it would have easily been a 6K car. The perfect winter unit

Its very common on car being run at tracks but 99% of them still have all the other AC parts still hanging on there. They just get rid of the Compressor and Hoses.
