Default ps3 in my car..

how would i does this? I commute to my college every MWF and I get so bored! i get done with class at 9:30ish and my last class is at 1pm!! Yes i do my home work which doesn't take long.

I would have to pick up a power inverter but, what else would i need? I have one of those portable dvd players where i can hook the audio/video in but what about powering the whole system?

would i have to wire the power inverter to the battery? because im pretty sure the cig lighter wouldnt be able to handle it.

any idea's would be helpful thanks!

By inverter I assume you're talking about a 12V power source? If you intend on playing with the car off, no matter what you plug it into, without the alternator running and charging your battery as its losing the voltage from the excess power excretion, I cant see this working out unless you had a power supply that could handle the amount of voltage that both a dvd player and a PS3 would need. There may be bigger inverters but as you mentioned the wattage going through the lighter port would not be enough. The PS3 would need around 380 watts of continuous power. I recommend running a cable from the battery to the power inverter.

PS3 is also not an anti-shock gaming console so if anyone planned on playing while you were driving, hitting a bump could end up leaving a noticeable scratch on the disk.

Unless the car is running, then sorry to say I dont know if you can. There are thousands and thousands of volts running through our walls to power our gaming consoles, but through a car is a different story, trust me, I wanted to put an Xbox 360 in mine

Park at a spot where there's a plug and run a long extension cord.

just invest in a little honda generator to carry around in the trunk to run the ps3 instead of the car battery. we do that with our tailgating van for football games. it ran a xbox 360 and a flat screen.
