Default RE: power steering removal

I have the Haynes manual for my car.

The 1995 Camaro 3.4L engine evidently has two separate engine temperature sensors. One sensor is used for the temperature gauge inside the vehicle. This sensor is located behind the power steering reservoir. I replaced this sensor (needlessly I guess) thinking this sensor controlled when the cooling fan turns on. I have since acquired the sensor that alledgely controls the cooling fan but do not know where the sensor is located on the engine. Does anyone know where this sensor is located? I have verified that the fan works by removing the relay and jumpering across to engage the fan. I believe I have effectively tested the relay to prove that it works correctly by following the test sequence in the Haynes Repair Manual "Chevrolet Camarao Pontiac Firebird" 1993 thru 2002". In any case, when my car reaches what should be the limit temperature, the cooling fan fails to turn on.

Am I on the right track in having determined there is a separate temperature sensor for the cooling fan? And does anyone know where this sensor is located on my 1995 Camaro 3.4L engine.

Call your local Chevrolet Service Dept., and ask to speak to a mechanic briefly to ask the question... usually they're helpful if you're brief and you could mention you're trying to save a few bucks doing it yourself...
