Well on 4th gen the motor is under the windshield so the height gets a little more complicatied. I have known guys that have put all kinds of motors in all kinds of cars that does not mean they have a clue to what they are doing. If you do not know and understand drive line angles you should re-engineer a cars drive train. You need to the Camaro 4 link rear suspension and how and why it needs the torque support. Stick with putting motors in that the factory designed. Also a heads up your PCM is connected to just about everything in the car. You will have to gut the existing wiring harness and make a new one. This would include a complete new Dash/gage cluster. All of the gages go thru the PCM as does you AC and your Anti-lock brakes.

Sorry is I come off harsh. I had a friend in High school who put a 318 in a dodge colt. He died in it 9 months later. He hit a hall and the motor crushed him. So young guys with welding torchs and no understanding scars me.

Do an ecotec and boost it, with a bottom end capable of 600hp and tons of aftermarket for a good price it could be fun...i know its smaller but for power and clearance it may be a good try. Also im a die hard chevy guy lol

Here's a link to my old Sunfire, which I traded for the Camaro. It started out as the purple and developed into what it was. I love my J-bodies too.

and an 03-05 LSS is my next investment

I wish I had pics of my J body. I had 2 actually. My first was a 5 speed base coupe 97 cavalier. My second pride and joy was a 5 speed 01 cavalier z24. I liked it so much I have Z24 tattooed on my arm.

Ok, the vh45 swap into a 240 isn't brand new, its been done quite a few times, there are writeups for it all over the net, while it doesn't get done a LOT, it still has been done a few times

How to swap a VH45 into a Nissan 240sx

the problem with swapping different motors in a 4th gen camaro, as has been said already is engine bay room. Because of the wiper cowl on these cars, you have to put the engine under the cowl (or cut it out like I did). Either way, its not going to be easy
