Default Oil sending Unit

Where is the oil sending unit located on the v6?

( Tried searching, sites going really slow )

If it is a 3.8 liter, it is just above the oil filter and is about 2 inchs long round piece that is screwed into the block.

The profile says he's got a '95, which would be the 3.4L.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think on that engine it's located near the back on the driver side. It can't be too hard to locate, though. As osduck described, it's a 2- or 3-inch round piece screwed into the engine. It sticks out like a sore thumb, quite literally. Easiest thing in the world to replace, but BE CAREFUL. I know of several people who've broken them when trying to install the new ones, LOL. They're fairly fragile parts.

yea i sneezed wrong at mine when changing my oil and it broke..it will probably be mostly black plastic with a silver metal base with a wire plugged to the end of it..

Yeah, most things in these cars are really well designed and built to last, but this part and the hard-to-reach spark plugs are just stupid ideas. WTF was GM thinking?

At least this thing is cheap and easy to replace.

on the 3.4l the oil pressure sending unit is located on the driver side down the bottom back end of the motor, wen i got my 95 mine was already snapped off. you may have trouble finding it if i remember correctly its got a rubber hose over it but its back there. if u havnt already found it i hope this post helps.
