Default Oil gauge problems...I hope anyway!

Hello everyone I have a 94 camaro 3.4L and I've done a lot of turn up stuff to it,..it only has 168,000 miles on it. I changed the oil today and a new drain plug and oil level sensor and when I first started it up it was in the middle and now it is almost to the bottom well just before the bottom or in the red at zero but when I give it gas it goes back to middle or just a hair over middle....can anyone help me and have some information on why it's doing that..I used 10w30 motor oil is that ok for it??

I would think 10/30 is fine, how low is your idle?
How much lower at idle than it has been, some engines barely register at idle and pop up as soon as the rpms start climbing especially with less than acurate stock gauges.
I don't know these V-6 engines real well but that does sound like maybe the main bearings are getting loose or possibly the oil pump is going south.
The fact that the gauge comes up with engine rpms pretty much says it's working.
I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable V-6 guys will chime in soon so hang tight.

Sounds about right, any unusual noise like maybe a low murmer of sort of barely audible knocking/clunking sound?
Sometimes you can hear main bearings starting to make a little low end sound at idle when they are getting loose.

No I haven't heard any out of the ordinary noises or anything and it just started it today after I changed the oil and fixed some emissions problems it had but if it is the bearings then I'm just going to put a lt1 or ls1 In it and be done with it

might try a different brand filter, I see in a search that there can be pressure problems with some of there filters. I been using a k&n without problems. also is the same wt oil being used as before?
