I enjoy the fact that a Fram's PH3387 and the larger PH3980 have the same threads, gasket and mounting dimentions.
PF2186 is interchangable with PF47 PF52
The larger filter allows for more oil to be added, more cooling surface area, more surface area for filtration and a higher capacity to hold dirt.
