oil consumption
my car now has 181xxx miles. i usually get an oil change every 2500 miles, sometimes 3000. of course i always keep a check on it. but this past time, i have put 2 quarts in within the 3000 miles. it has never did this, could it be the type of oil the mechanics used, or is that normal for an engine with that many miles? i just find it odd that it did it all of a sudden like this.btw, it's not wanting to start sometimes and it floods easily. it also hesitates and occasionaly misses. i got a new fuel filter, could it be the fuel pump? it hasn't been long since i got a tune up, so it shouldn't be the spark plugs.

RE: oil consumption
It could be plugs and wires, along with coil packs. If the wires aren't OEM spec, they're usually junk and will fry up soon. Plug wires are often misunderstood, because there are so many properties that act upon them, such as magnetic induction (if they're routed incorrectly). But anything else you mentioned has potential. If it uses that much oil within 2,500 miles, you should be able to notice a leak. Park the car after running it for a while and place something under it (I use a large piece of discarded vinyl flooring that I cut to fit directly under my engine and transmission). It's a helpful platform that will allow you to see any puddles or leaks and trace them clearly.
