Default Noise Valve/ Lifter Tap 3.4

Just rebuild My 95 V6 3.4 . Run's and starts fine but it sound's like i have a valve orlifter tap It sounds like it has a noise top end ( valve and or Lifter area ) is this Normal for The 3.4,The motor only has 25 miles on It.
Bye the way It has Compucam with new springs(double springs)and keepers. Engine was bored 30 over also has pasesetters headers also has a Stage 3 CAI. Has no computer work done. All The work done by Myself..

Should I beak It In more and then re-ajust them (that will be a Pain) or Ajust them now?

Looking for Suggestions ..

Adjust them now. They don't get better with time, but they do get worse. Also check for a bent push rod.

Pete, When i put the engine back together the push rods where check .. Is there anything else I should check for and any Suggestions on how to ajustthem? Is it common for the top end to be little noisier than normal. I had a 96 Grandam and that engine was always noisie on the top when I ask the Dealer and heared other cars they said that this was normal for tha engine.

The hotter cam will tend to create more noise; however, all rockers should sound the same. If one is noisier than the rest then it needs to be tended to. It could be poorly adjusted, have a bent push rod, have a bad lifter, wiped out cam lobe. There is no really easy way to remove the valve covers as the manifold gets in the way.

I ran the car again this evening and It's not a lifter noise. It just sounds like the the springs are noisey ? I set the valves as they said but I will recheck again this weekend. I will pull the Push rods out and recheck them also. Yeah the cam that I installed Is Crane Part#254122. Would this be common with double springs ?

Thank you for all your assistance.

I't can be done but It's a lot work. I see that It has 148k . If your going to tear the engine done to repair the Valve train noise the I would just Overhaul or rebuild the Engine. When you do Valve train work you will need todo the Head's And also new Lifter's also which In turn requires a New Cam to do this the Proper Way. (also new Cam Bearing's that Have to be done by Machine shop )which In turn requires the engine pulled. It's alot of work ..
