Default No cat

Ive got a 01 3800 II camaro and just bought it, it has no cat but does have a magnaflow muff. Besides the ses light coming on will it hurt the engine in the long run?

You need to find out what the complaint is and take it from there. You will have to install downstream O2 sims or have the PCM tuned to delete them. Otherwise the fuel mapsmay not be correct.

Right. It's never a good idea to confuse the O2 sensors, as they're one of the vital fuel controlling paramaters in closed loop.

The folks at http://speedinc.com suggest taking out the cats and they delete the relevant parameters in the computer, so no O2 simulators are needed...
