Default nitrous

So I've been convinced to go with nitrous . I will be spraying a 75 wet shot. My car has 161000. What are some mods that I should . I have cold air induction, headers, exhaust.posi rear.

lets slow down for a minute, your best bet is to creep up on a 75 shot, I'm not sure I would hit it with the full shot immediately. Is your car completely stock? If not, what is done to it currently?

161K with the original chain and head gaskets your asking for problems.

Stock timing chain is fine when it new but there is a lot of aftermarket headgasket that are better then stock.

You should also do a compression test and a oil pressure test just to make sure you don't have any other internal issues.

Wet shot is going safer then a dry shot but rememeber the candle that burns twice as bright burns half is long, With 161K you dont have much candle left. My 02 motor has 90K highway miles on it now. I would not do NO2 without doing the head gaskets first.

Nice analogy with the candle, I'm going to remember that

My automatic transmission teacher told me that back in the early 80's. I use it a lot

I'd only run nitrous if I am comfortable with the process behind pulling and fixing a toasted engine.

Sometimes I toy with the idea of buying a used LT1 to build in the garage while I spray the hell out of my original, and do the swap when it blows.

Yeah I found this website that sells me a rebuild kit for 400. I'm gonna do the rebuild first ? And can I put internals from a 05 3800 on my engine without any other mods ?

Your better off getting a low miles 05 engine. Just upgrade the head gaskets. You can find a kit for $400 But to rebuild the motor right your going to have a $1200-$1600. Macine shop bill. Just getting the valves redone going to be 500-600 and the newer engine has bigger valves to start with.

The problem with rebuilding high miles blocks is the cylinders are going to be out of round. This is normal wear on any V style motor.

Just keep in mind that as you approch 300hp your V6 transmission and rear are going to be a lot less dependable.
