you've got the same style/year that I do. I've just recently decided to work on mine. At 160k i'm nervous too. I had it inspected made sure it was sound there. Now i'm going in for a tune up and have them really check it out to make sure they don't think the engine will go in 5k. It's a gambe either way you guy. But there is so much you can do to the car, Have fun with it!

i have a '95 3.4 that was in serious need of some tlc when i bought it (only $800 and i got what i paid for). it currently has about 150K on it and after a little time iv got it running strong now. they are very easy to work with and relatively cheap when it comes to mods. there is a lot you can do with it so have fun and good luck.

i bought my 96 3.8 for 4 grand. it had 166xxx miles. i should've waited for a z28, but i needed a car at that moment, and so far i'm glad i bought it. it has 176xxx miles now, and i've had no problems as far as the engine goes. i'm guessing someone really took care of it or it has already had engine work because aside from needing a tune up, it runs like a new car for me. i got it from a used car dealer (who is highly regarded in my area), and he didn't know much about the history of the car. but it hasn't failed me yet, so i guess i'll be putting some money into it soon.

i got my 96 3.8 for 2800, and its in very good shape, i got one, non-creased dent by gas cap, bout as big around as the gas cap, i got with 127K miles, and it came with American racing teron rims, got it so cheap cuz of the gas tank holes, doesnt leak gas, just makes emission sensor go on the fritz every so often, and guy before me thought it was catastrophic... this also the guy who didnt know car had airfilter. KBB value on my car is 4600, and ive but bout 1grand in it now, wanna sell this winter/spring for 4500-ish and buy a LS-gun.
