Default new walbro fuel pump. cel at closed loop

Hey all. I just installed a racetronix lt1 pump in my car. These last few days, its been kicking the cel about the time the car would be entering closed loop. Drives fine except it bogged just a bit under 2k. Today I had neither problem, ran like a champ.
Now obviously I had the battery unplugged during the unstall, so I'm wondering if the fuel trim got reset and it needs to relearn it. My drive is less than 10 minutes to work, so it barely has time to hit closed loop.
Also, the cel is always off when started cold. Any insight would be appreciated

You question would be much easier to answer if you told us what the trouble code was/is.

I haven't had it scanned, so I don't know. Is there some way to check blink codes on an obd1.5 system?
What I'm wondering is this: is there a chance that I'm seeing this light because the ecm hasn't adjusted itself to the altered fuel system yet? By the timing of the light, and the corresponding boggy off-idle, it strikes me that as the o2 sensor lights off, its probably finding itself exceedingly rich. Would it level back out if I went on a longer trip? I'm thinking if the fuel trim is given time to stabilize, it might go away
