is your car auto or manual, as far as i know if you have auto the rear end gear ratio is the same, if its a manual its different so the speedo will be way out and performance will change.

what do you want to know in regards to 'what you need', are you removing the complete axle?

Any rear axle from 4th gen cars will work for you. All are 10-bolts and if they are from a Z-28 they will all have limited slip (RPO G80) and have 3:23 ( auto) or 3:42 (6-sp). But be aware that they are also a lot of 2:73 out there. Quick way to tell if its in the car, the shifter will not have a marked 1st gear on automatic with 2:73 rear. All Z28 cars had the rear disc's brakes.

is it lt1 z28 then, not sure abot diff ratios in these but in my hand book 1999 camaro, the z28 auto has 2.73 and manual 3.42. the v6 has 3.42 auto but 3.23 manual.

blackz87 my auto apparently has 2.73 but i have a 1st gear on shifter runs to ~60mph before shift to 2nd?? (sorry for thread high-jack)
