RE: New Eninge 2.8, 3.8l
The LS1 is a V8, as far as I know. There are crate engines which come with everything you need but they probably run about $7K by the time it is in the car and running.
If you have a V6, I would stick with something that will fit to the existing trans and mounts, etc., just as much displacement as you can muster.

You would have to change a lot. You'd probably have to go with new motor mounts, electronics, and even a transmission that would hold the LS1's power. Not to mention, you may even have to strengthen the front frame section, since it's a V6 car. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone.
You mention that you need a V6 because you're 17. Look into a 3.8L turbo motor from a 1989 Turbo TransAm. You'll still have to change some things, but you will surely NOT be disappointed with that motor.

yea thanks...i would love to have a v8 in there like a 305 but insurence reasons. what im thinkin about doin is getting the car insured and inspected then dropping a bigger engine into it like a 305 and beating the system....lol
