Default New camaro owner.. mod questions

Hi there, I just got an '02 v6 and have a couple questions..

1) Is it worth modding it or should I be saving up for a SS or something of the sort
2) If it is, do some of you more experienced camaro drivers have recommendations on the most effective upgrades? I went through the sticky but it was confusing

well, it's more worth while to do it to a Z, but no matter what, youll never get what you put in. best ways are to put a cone air filter, headers, cat back exhaust for "cheapest" and "easiest" ways to gain power. Plus you'll need the full exhaust for future upgrades.

.Welcome to the Camaro family! Well i have a 2000 V6 and they really do have alot of potential, but it will never be as fast or as loud as a Z28 or an SS. My 2000 V6 is pretty fast cus i have it tuned up the ***, and ive done some mods like a cold air intake, a dual magnaflow exhaust with the cat gutted....now it wont pass smog, so dont do that, and stickers on the rear windshield! (ricers told me it adds 50-80 horsepower) Lol. No but seriously, there is a lot of things you can do to it to make it fast and looking good. I know you said the sticky was confusung, but just ask around and we will be more than happy to answer any qnestions you have.

Thanks for the tips guys! I think my first priority will be a cold air intake and since I'm lacking a lot of knowledge in the car area I'll research some of the other things you guys recomennded

There's a lot you can do, but personally, I'd go with a V8 counterpart for more power. Otherwise, there's an array you could do with the engine (rather, have someone do because a lot of them are pretty involved) including aftermarket competition cams, more efficient valvetrains, transmission shift kits, exhaust system components, and high performance intake systems.

dont buy a cold air intake. just throw a K&N or AEM cone filter on and take out filter box, cheapest way, and it's same thing, maybe 1 or 2 horsies less.

Ok so the priorty list is something like

-cone air filter
-headers
- cat back exhaust

Then after those start working on the things usarmyrangrs.. in terms of installation should I order the parts myself and take it to a mechanic to install?

-headers & down pipe togther or seperats kinda up to you
-injector and other miscellious stuff
-pcm tune
-more agressive cam
-then forced induction (supercharger or turbo)
