New 3.8L
I currently have a 3.8L with a little over 183000 miles on it. i have been looking for anyplace that sells these motors. I know there is still a lot of life left in the engine but I just want to konw where i can get another when it is time.
it really just depends on how much you want to spend, Jasper is a well know name, you can find a local shop and purchase one from a large parts supplier like autozone, i bought a engine for my jimmy and put it in my self.......SFC

As for used option I went with a 2002 3.8 out of a camaro with 47K on it. Build thread in my sig.I got it that way I could get many of the sensors Iwanted 6 years newer then my 96s. Any 3800 K vin number will fit your car. (That is long block only) normaly any 3.8 1996-2003 Monte Carlo, grand prix, buick lesaber ect.
If you look around these are one of the most plentiful motors in the yards. On another site there was a kid who found a 2003 with 9K on it and he got it for like $500. These motor are pretty tough, that is why there is so many good motors in the yards and why the crate motor are so costly.
