i recently had a new engine put in my 97 camaro its a 3.8 5 speed engine runs fine but now all of a sudden the clutch is really stiff and won't engage would this be a slave cylinder you can still go threw all gears it just wont engage, i need advise please, thanks

 

a regular clutch last about 4-7 years. your car old is that means your clutch has been slipping. You might want to get a new clutch

If you slave cylinder is bad, your clutch wont be stiff, it would be the opposite, it would be completely loose

 

it has a new clutch on it every thing is new but the slave cylinder i have no idea what else it could be they said it was the slave because it is leaking a little fluid right under the bell housing

 

slave cylinder fix it I'm all good to go now, hopefully

 

yea if you were leaking fluid, it had to be the slave cylinder. glad to hear you fixed it.

 

does anyone know how to fix the speedometer mine is not working since I've had the engine put in does any one know where the speed senors are? I have a chilton book but it doesnt say anything about the vvs, thanks

 

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) should be towards the tail of the transmission. All that now-a-days is electronic, so it's either the sensor or the gauge needle. I would try the sensor first.

 

It doesn't have a speedo cable. As of 1990, they're electric.

 

thanks for the help guys I bought a speed sensor last night I'll put it on when I get off work hopefully this fixes the problem
