i was curious if anyone has any tricks to feed more air to my cold air intake for my 99 v6, it sits right at the front of the engine , it dont go down the side at all, theres a steel plate sitting underneith it, i was curious if i cut a hole in the steel plate, right under teh filter, would it get me more cold air? thnx

 

Laws of physics. Air can pass through the intake at a maximum speed of Mach 1 (the speed of sound). The energy required to take it above Mach 1 would be so great, it would b highly inefficient. Naturally Aspirated motors usually reach termial velocity with air at 9,000 RPMS fyi. Turbo or supercharger just change the torque curve.
