I bought this car 3 months ago and since i bought it the speedometer has been way off. The tires and wheels that are on it are factory issue. Their are no vehicle speed sensor codes on it. my only other guess would be maybe someone might have put different gears in the rear end idk. Or the vss sensor may be bad without setting a code. Im really stumped and any input would be helpful. thanks

Ok im pretty sure that the rear end gears have got to be aftermarket. I just dont know what to look for. Also im not sure as to what type gears should be in their from the factory or how to tell if they are higher or lower gears, but i amguessingthat they would have to be higher.

You need to change the spedometer gear driving the VSS to match the rear end gear, Since you don't know the rear end gear ratio, you won't know what spedometer gear to get. So the first thing is for you to accurately find out you rear end gear ratio. Count the theet on the ring gear and on the pinion gear, and divide the number of theet on the ring by the number of theet on the pinion.
