Hello! I'm Steven, this is my first post, i need some help with my car. Just got it and runs beautiful, loving it. It's a 3.8l V6 Camaro. Yesterday I go outside and I try to start it, it just clicks, the lights all stay on strong and everything so that kinda rules out the battery. It makes no cranking noise or anything just a small subtle click. Anyone have any ideas? Please please reply ASAP thanks!

 

could be several things. the most obvious would be the starter solenoid. Sick

 

Have someone turn the key to the start position, crawl underneath the car and beat the starter with a hammer, this may dislodge it and it may start.

this happened to me... it was simply a corroded and frayed ground strap

 

Could be:

Low Battery, not enough juice to start but enough for accessories.

Bad or Loose ignition wire or battery cable. Might not let enough juice flow.

Starter/Solenoid

 

is there a red light on that says security?

 

The solenoid is what's making the clicking sound. It's either the starter, loose/faulty cables, or as Cosentino said the battery.
