need help asap, cars stalls and runs rough
I have a 93 camaro 3.4l auto. problem is after I got gas tues. when I started in car it started missing. . It backfired a lil at low rpm, big power loss. have new gas in it now. car had o2 sensors, plugs, wires, egr and pcv replaced bout 6 mon. ago. Air intake temp sensor, fuel filter and tps were changed today, iac was swapped. The car idles a little high rough. As soon as you give it gas it dies. If I unplug the tps, it'll idle normal and it's driveable but it runs rough, like the day i got gas. Could the tps be put in wrong? I have no idea what to do next.. plz help

When you unplug your TPS your car goes into open loop mode. That means its running on a pre-defind fuel map and its ignoring most of the sensors. So you system runs better when its ignoring sensors. Most likely one of those sensors is causing the problem, It could be the TPS or one of a half a dozen other sensors. Pull codes like like Craby said. It will atlease point you in the right direction. You may want to reconnect the TPS clear the codes. Restart the motor and wait for the check engine lite. As it stands now you have a TPS code

im not sure if the paper clip works on a 93 6. according to the book it will. if so and if u didnt get the 1 2 flashes then something is not working right in the diagnostic system. check all the fuses in the fuse box under the hood and the side of the dash by the driver side door hinge. check the grounds u can find, should be one on the front driver side of the block but not sure on the 6.

Yes the light should come on with the key on and the engine not stated. Once the car starts it will go out.
If you pull the TBS cable and your Check engine light did not come on you either have a bulb out or something is not working in you computer system. You will need to fine a way to scan the computer. If the hand held scaner is showing a connection to the computer and you can see sensor data then the bulb is burn out or disconneted. If this car is new to you there is a good chance the bulb is just disconneted.

You may have to buy a scanner or find a mechanic who has one and pay him. Repairing some of these computer system is tuff when you can pull code and you do not have a scanner.
