Default need help.....again

well seems like my car is slowly falling apart, but this time my question is what is the problem when you hear a bit of a howling sound coming from the rear of the car? at first i thought it was the air conditioner, but it wasnt then when i had the car parked and idling it was coming form the back, im prraying its not the fuel pump going out. and what is an indication that there may be an exhaust leak present? if you got any advice id really appreciate it.

What if you just turn the key on and don't start it, is the noise there for a few seconds then it stops?

Exhaust leaks don't howl, the exhaust just gets louder since some of the gasses aren't going into the muffler. I have the same question as Gorn.

Maybe you ran over a coon hound and he is still wedged around the axle. I own a coon hound and let me tell you that howl is like nails on a chauk board. I feel for you Bro. On the plus side it should go away within a few weeks, It will smell for a little bit after but then everything will be back to normal.
