Default My car is idling High

My 3.4l is idling higher than usual, but sometimes it idles higher than other times... When I crunk my car up yesterday it idled around 1200, today it idled around 800 and just now it idle around 2000rpm. I don't know why, maybe you guys can help? It runs smoothly, no lost in power what so ever.

Nope, I live and good ol' FL... Its perfect outside, excluding the rain. But I know that isn't a factor because It was idling high yesterday when there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

idle air control valve is my bet they gum up and rAize your idle and will randomly vary the rpm on an engine.
its job is to raise idle till engine temp is higher

The TB blade(s) could be sticking. Or problems with tps, iac valve, or vacuum leaks.

If you press the throttle does it go down? Look at the throttle body lever to see if its high.

Yes it goes down once I hit the throttle, but I go back to nuetral it idles high again... I'm sure this is eating my fuel economy.

My 93 v6 was doing this as well. It was varying between 800 and 2000, sometimes 3500rpm, depending on its temperature. The warmer the engine, the better it idled.

Try checking your oxygen sensors. I just replaced my burned out o2 sensor, and it's idling much better.

Also, has your check engine light been coming on? You might be able to read the code with a code reader to see if that can help you pinpoint the issue.
