Default Motor is out

Finally got a chance to work on the camaro today and finish taking the motor out. Here are a few pics if I did it right.

Do you have a special tool to remove the main bearing caps? I have mine torn all the way apart except the crank is still sitting in the block. Apparently the mains are pressed in and you have to get a special tool to remove them. I have no idea what that tool is.

I ran into that problem on the main bearing caps. My special tool was a vise grip and a pry bar. You have to be VERY careful while prying up on the vise grip but it worked and nothing got damaged.

Thanks, for the heads up on the main bearing. I still have not got the chance to go back out to the garage and start tearing it down. I was gonna go out there tonight but I am tired an its not going anywhere so it will happen this weekend.
