hey im 16i drive a 2001 v6 dark blue camaro i need to know some mods that will get to under a 12 1. I race on the straight aways around my town so im not worried about corners as much as speed. with my camaro as is im 17-4 (i only count the ones i lose to or thatkeep up) currently i have a performance chip and hot spark plugs and wires im lookin to beat a z28 that runs a 12 1 with a good driver. but he cant shift iv decided not to buy a v8 to put in my car so i need help finding some mods.

 

1st, that Z has to be modded a semi-good deal if it runs 12.1 w/ a ****ty driver

2nd, your V6 WILL NOT run anywhere near 12's w/o SERIOUS WORK AND MONEY. Heads, Cam, Nitrous, full bolt ons might get you high 12's

3rd, your 16, your going to get a ticket and get ****ed and/or crash when you race

The current V6 fbody record holder is in the 11's, dont get your hopes up

 

iv been busted once for passing sucide at 100 going into our small town. but thats just cause she got my lisence plate and iv wrecked iv been workin for awhile so iv got quite a bit to spend i baught a kit thats supposed to get me down to a thirteen but its possible wright? or should i just get the v8?

 

1st, Do you think your cool going 100 thru a small town? Your a dumbass (no offense)

2nd, what is this 'kit'? It would have to be a FI 'kit' and would need supporting mods to get into 13's...there are no premade kits designed for our cars. Cheapest and easiest way would be to buy a V8 car, a V8 swap into your car would be expensive. Anything is possible with enough time and money

wow. i'm just nineteen.i'm glad i didn't get my camaro when i was sixteen, i would've wrecked it by now. even though i'm only 3 years older than you, take my advice. drive at least somewhat responsibly. you may think you know your car well now, but you more than likely don't yet, heck, i probably dont completely.

 

lol, im only 17 and i have my camaro and i still realize that doing a hundred through our town which is very small is extremely stupid. if u want to run go to a drag, see what your car will do. i think people come on to these forums and expect people to be like sweet dude you got pulled over and you were doing a hundred. when in reality it gives us camaro owners a dieing breed a bad rep which will just make us vanish faster. so my one year ahead of you experience says...... just think that on a street your speedometer is how much will be added onto your insurance, or how much your parents will have to pay foryou hitting a ped crossing the road.

ok umm bro whoaaaaaaaaaa bad is a chill dude and uve got him hot under the collar so let me set u strait before hiss cobra comes in here and rips you apartif your a good driver and your cars in good condition you will run 15s maybe a stock ls1 camaro runs high 12's and they are pushing down 100+ more horse power than you so with full bolt ons you may hit low 15s high 14s then if you throw in a power adder such as a superchrger or turbo you could aproch the 13s and maybe high twelves depend on excally what you put in for you to run a 12.1 bro............ you going to be putting 15-20 thousand dollars under the hood......so ya buy a ls1 and save a ton of time and money and work secondly do 100 if you wreck a camaro by being stupid youll get no sympathy around her some of the boys with V8 dont cut us guys with 6ers alot of respect but dang fool its still a camaro stop being stupid much as i hate to say it driving a 3800 series V6 myself there faster than alot thats out there they are muscel cars but there not true beasts like the V8s and your going to end up dead or with somany tickets the only thing youll be driveing is you forhead into the pillow when you made sombodys girlfriend in prison

 

youMIGHT get close to that z28 time if you put in a turbo or supercharger. I know powerdyne sells a supercharger for the V6 camaro. And there is a guy on the forums who posted his 3.8L camaro with 1 turbo and had 500 RWHP. Your looking at spending about 5,000dollars or more
