i have a 97 with a 3.8 that misses badly when accelerating
after i get up to speed it smoothes out.i have new plugs/wires/fuel filter.could it be an injector?how do i check that???

 

Is the check engine lite coming on?

 

really bad plug/wire? Wires mixed up?

I had that problem last spring...it ended up being a bad fuel injector...get it scanned...autozone for free

 

My 97 was doing it too when I first got it.. I only really noticed it this one time a GT pulled up beside me though, went to autozone and they said it was misfiring on cylinder 4. Got a new plug and about a week later the light turned off.
