glad you figured out the problem. I have run into a few cars that are 95 with OBDII, they are really rare. Let us know how the car turns out when it is done.

got another issue, my abs inop light comes on when i accelerate harder than normal driving. i noticed my volts are around 12 and below with a brand new battery also. no difference in braking, got new drums, new shoes, and new pads so why is it doing that?

if the brakes are not doing weird stuff then i would say a abs sensor or wiring to it is failing. check the wire harnesses on the front hubs (known problem area) and on the rear end. the sensors are in the hubs so if its the sensor u have to buy the hub. at least with mine i did.

why are my volts dropin though? i heard that light could pop on if the alternator is going bad. is this true?

not always. sometimes the voltage regulater inside the alt fails and works but will not charge the battery completely. also a negative diode can go and the alt will only charge at half its rating.

diodes are inside the alt. if u dont have a book its best to have it tested at the local parts shop. pick up a factory service manule for your yr and model. i think the 95 is a two book set.

You cant replace the diodes very easily and it is usually just best to get a new alternator. Get the lifetime one they are only about $10 more than the 1yr and the construction is much better.
