Default Mass air sensor.

I just installedcold air on m 3.8,-will a stock mass air flow sensor work with this?I also installed a Stage 2 jet chip' im asking because it is usingWAY more gas and they are claiming it should get BETTER gas milage.Italso seems to have a little smoke (darkin color)-Anyone know?

the cold air intake will make the car run a little rich. so yes it will use some more gas, generally 2 mpg decrease.......

the super chip advances the timing (dunno if it leans or makes it rich)

for the stage 2 you need a low temp thermo, catback and intake..... or it wont run right.

If you're screen is in, yes MAF should work fine. CAI shouldn't make the car run richer, as the PCM should maintain 14.7 AFR during normal driving. If anything, it would lean it out.

If you put in the CAI yourself, you should have seen a screen on the end of the MAF/Throttle body unit. All it does is straighten air flow so MAF will read incoming air correctly.

Got ya--One more question--is it normal to here a loud sucking noise that sounds kinda like grinding? (really loud when you first crank it) I understand the sucking noise but the way it sounds?!?-Thanks again!

Sucking sounds with CAIs are normal. This is due to the silencers in stock air box not being there anymore.
