ok so i have a 05 3.4 today my car was smoking for some reason and i smelled anifreezer so anyway i look inder the hood and when i looked under the fuse box under the hood i saw this connection thing so i asked my bro and he said it goes to my MAF sensor but when i look on my aur filter tube and stuff i dont see the sensor so my car does not have 1. should i get 1? or wat should i do help plz

 

The car came from the factory with one. The check engine lite should be lit if the MAF is disconnected, unless somebody did some jury rigging. The car will run without a MAF, but it will run better with one.

i didnt notice but it didnt have it when i bought it
mayb im not lookin good enough but aint the MAF sensor on the hose comin from the ait filter to the throttle body?

The 95 3.4 did not use a MAF sensor. It uses the "speed density system (MAP)" instead of "mass air"

 

so where does that plug go?

The car is designed to work without a MAF, it uses the MAP sensor to control engine management. Cars designed with a MAF also have a MAP sensor, but they use the MAF as the primary sensor, the MAP is used as a backup and for starting. I don't know where the wire goes, but if the car is running good and the check engine lite is OFF, I wouldn't worry about it. However, if the check engine lite is ON, get the car scanned, and the code may give a hint of what is missing. Car companies use common wiring harnesses, and there always are some connectors that are not being used, depending on how the car is optioned.

autozone, advance auto part, and murrays said they only scan 1996+

 

By the way my car is running ok
i need a new exhaust( mufler pipes and catalac. converter) and sometimes i get a poppin noise from some where sounds like the coil packs or the wires cause i changed the plugs. My Map sensor must be ok cause my car doesnt run hot or anything
My car idles high when in nuetral and park but is at normal when first cranked up in the morning or while in drive
drive=1000 RPMS park nuetral= 1500 RPMs
can u tell me wat cause that?
