I swear I watched that video before, maybe someone posted it before -- that is a great idea to search YouTube videos...

On the flipside, has anyone paid to have an LSD swapped in in their 4th Gen from an open rear and how much did a shop charge you? Was it done right, i.e. now whirring/whine after the job was done?

I've charged $150-$200 depending on the rear and the set up to change out the carrier. If I have to assemble ****, curse words will be had

Make sure the differential fluid isn't reused. Expect a little whine at first if the gears are brand new but if done right it shouldn't last more than 30 mins.

^ You've charged that to do the swap yourself, or a shop you work at?

Found a nice little write-up on 4th Gen rear-end work with pics from someone and thought I'd share:

One thing I am still curious about is if the Y87 Camaros had any other powertrain improvements besides the LSD carrier to support the additional stresses?

^ What gears do you have now? If not 3.42, ya might want to -- as long as you're going through all that work already...

You will have to tune for the gear change, fair warning. If not, your speedometer will be off.

Yea, idk the current gearing right now. I'll look it up later. It might be 3.42, but im not for sure. But if my gears are 3.42, all i need is the differential?

You need the install kit. You have to reset the gears to the new differential. You should go ahead and replace all the bearing while you are at it.
