Low Trac Light Blinking

Low Trac Light Blinking
Okay so my Low Trac Light is blinking and stays blinking long after the car has started. It will go off if I push on the brake and hold it for 3-5 seconds. After releasing the break the low trac light starts blinking again. The ABS INOP light also goes off on with the low trac light. What could be going on here?

RE: Low Trac Light Blinking
I have had this happen on my '97 V6. I was stupid and let someone else drive it without me. When I get back in it both lights were on. Come to find out he had ran off the road in the rain somehow. The lights stayed on for a trip to McDonald's were off when I came back outside and started it again. You might try disconnecting your battery, and letting it sit for a while. This should clear them away if it doesn't go away on its own.

Get the car scanned & see what it is complaining about. Otherwise you will be doing a lot of extra work and buying parts you don't need. You have a computer controlled car and it is trying to tell you something, find out what it is trying to tell you.

RE: Low Trac Light Blinking
You are having problems with your ABS system and the computer is disabling it to prevent braking problems. Check your brake lites, including the center monted one. If they are burned out they can case the ABS to act up. If the lites are OK, get the car scanned so that you will know what it is complaining about. Once you know what the trouble is, then you can go about fixing it.

RE: Low Trac Light Blinking
Get an Autoxray 6000 if you want a good scanner (I own one):

But if you also want ABS testing, a scanner gets more pricey -- you'll need the OTC Nemisys in either case, check eBay, etc.
