loose door panel
 

I just bought a used Camaro ('94 v6) and one of its issues was that the door panel is loose on the passenger side. I can get the glue for it for 50 and rent the gun for 10 from a local Napa. I was just curious to see if anyone else ran into this issue?

I guess it would be the door skin. (the exterior) The guy at my local shop said it was a common problem with these cars though I've never really heard about it. I'm just trying to figure out if it is as straight forward as it sounds to fix.

Take the panel off and bring in one of the clips to your local auto parts store. Do not glue as it'll make it very difficult to remove if you want to upgrade speakers or have problems with you locks or windows. If it's you plastic behind the panel then pick up a tube of acoustical sealant and go around the frame pressing the plastic back on.

If you are talking about the door skin then you can glue it back together using the special SMC adheasive. This was not a common thing with these cars unless some one was trying to break in. This was easier and faster than a slim jim you just pull on the door skin and it would pop off the frame and then reach in and release the lock by hand. I cant remember how many I fixed when I was an Autobody tech. Make sure to use "C" clamps and or vice grips to hold the panels back together as tight as you can. Oh and use some wood paint sticks to protect the paint as well.
