Hey, my car makes a puttering noise when i first start it up, not sure what it is, I might be able to get a video of it up tomorrow, also i kinda have a rattle and a putter spin down when i shift past 4k rpms...
any ideas?
I do know that my cat back exhaust is loose.
I hope i can weld it on soon so i wont have to worry about my clamp..

 

Not very specific... Could be many things you are describing as a "puttering noise" and a "rattle"

 

the rattle sounds like it comes from my headers, and the puttering comes directly from my engine, the lower part of my block.. I think..

 

the rattling sound can come from the timing chain. It can break if not properly oiled.
it could be the catalyic convertor
it can also be the heat shields in the exhaust are lose
it can be a valve hitting the push rod.

Sputtering can be caused by faulty spark plugs, wire, fuel filters, fuel lines, fuel pumps, etc.

I had a sound like that it turned out to be the cat.....SFC

 

The rattle is from your o2 sensor and the putter is from a header leak at the block.
