Exclamation A little help please :D

Ok, so about 3 months ago i had a really bad mechanic fix a couple of minor leaks. That soon became a $2k mess and he is claiming my cam shaft has gone to fritz. Although he is a mechanic I find it hard to believe that in the course of one week to fix a leak the cam would magically break. I think it may be more of a tranny problem. When I try to accelerate I just over rev and when it does catch it shift late. It is a 1994 v6 3.4L with an 460Le tranny. Thanks

The more I look into tranny and cam failure it gets more confusing cause they both suffer from the same things. I guess the real question is do i go and do what the one mechanic said or get a 2nd opinion from the chevy dealership mechanics.

The cam and transmission have nothing to do with each other. If the engine revs and the car does not respond, the transmission is slipping. Find yourself a good mechanic.

Why don't you "Brown-Nose" your uncle and have him do it on the side for family?
