Default Is the K&N FIPK Worth it?

Hey I am about to drop some cash into my 2001 3.8 and was doing some research on CAI's and what not and have narrowed it down to the SLP ram air kit and the K&N FIPK. Does anyone have either of these Intakes on their 3.8 with pics so i can see or suggestions. Are there any better Intakes out there? I was also considering a intake off eBay for 100 bucks called by chromeintakes but it looks open to alot of water and dirt. Let me know what you think.

I use the SLP CAI on both my SS & RS, works great, noticeable improvement and my suggestion to you. Add the Whisper Lid and remove the air baffle, high flow air filter might help a tad as well.

Forget that ebay chrome stuff.

Do I have to worry too much about hydrolocking with that kit? Does it come out behind the bumper guard or infront of it?

I drive the RS in snow, rain, sleet, etc. -- no problems.

It comes down in front of the radiator, but not far enough down to cause a problem. Just be careful during the install, takes patience, and careful not to damage your radiator fins.

Just installed the SLP CAI and sanded the baffels in my OEM lid. I thought the installation was pretty easy thank god for dremmel tool. Took it out for a spin and noticed the car had an easier time accelerating from around 30-40. Thanks for the suggestions!

You need to get rid of the Air Baffle that comes after the lid with a replacement straight tube, if you don't get a Whisper lid...

itd be nice to be able to buy one but I doubt they sell em specifically for that. I plan on just taking some measurements and buying a plastic tube from home depot or somewhere.
