Default K & N Air intake

I went on their website, and they make one for a 3.4, and not a 3.8?! or does it work for both?

they make them for both however if you have a 98-02 dont even bother. Just buy a filter, and if you want to upgrade your intake, modify your air lid & make a ram air box for it. Ill post more info later when i feel like it. But yea 98-02 already have a great intake, dont waist your money, tyhe K&N set up is like $300.

Do what you'd like. He's just saying that the 98+ have easy intakes to modify, making them similar if not the same to aftermarket lids.

They don't make many for the early 3.8s. These were bastard years for them. SLP has one. Lingenfelter has some "power tube" (i don't remember what it's called). All it is, is a tube between stock filter housing and the MAF housing. Eliminates all the restrictions. Seemed to work pretty good for me when I had one. Or you can always go the eBay route.

There is right now. But you can cut, dremel, remove the baffles inside the lid to be smooth. Same thing as an aftermarket one.
