There are alot of vehicles out there with still the factory plugs. They make them so darn hard to get to and want to charge a arm and leg to replace them. I had a Ford Ranger with a 4 cylinder in it, had over a 100k and the plugs in it looked like they had never been changed and I know the wires were original because at night you could raise the hood and start it and it looked like a lighting storm under the hood. When I sold that truck, there was one plug that I never changed. I tried every way in the world to get to it without removing the manifold and finally gave up.

you have a auto or standard tranny? Check your local bone yards and you might come up with a decent price on a used on. My brother has a 95 3.4 with auto listed on golsn.com as a parts car. He said they drove the car in and the motor and tranny are good but he is in TN, quite a ways from you. The wiring harness caught on fire and the PO replaced it with a harness from a standard so the tranny will not shift gears. He started parting it out.
