Default Just bought the car and gonna start the maintenance..Need suggestions on Quality!

Hey Guys,
It's friday and snowy and im bored. i figured this would be a good time to buy all my parts to make the car run a bit more smooth.. i have a few questions on things such as wat kind of wires to buy for a plug change? and wat plugs to use? I bought a K&N CAI and a Hypertech 160deg thermostat to get me started. also my heat doesnt get very warm and it takes forever to even get to the warmest it can get to.. anything i can do to make it work a bit better?

So Questios are as follows

1. Wat are some quality plug wires to help maximize performance?
2. Good plugs?(platinum, platinum tipped,etc.)
3.Suggestions on where to start on making the heater warmer or work more efficiently?

If any of these are posted in other threads feel free to post them on here. I looked but couldnt find anything that was for sure saying it would help performance vs. stock wires and plugs.. TIA, Jon

Forget the lower thermostat on a V6 especially if you run the car in cold weather and want good heat!
I did MSD Wires (make sure you get new looms, or drill out and sand the stock ones) and Denso plugs, SLP's CAI is a better choice, IMHO, What year?

Install a flush kit and flush it, if it's real bad, do a super flush (they sell it all at Wally Mart).

flush your radiator and then the heater core. do a search on it. a good name brand plug wire will work. im using msd. i think there 8mm or something like that. im using bosch platinum +4 plugs. stock oem plugs will work also. if the wires are new or in good shape then it will probly not make much of a difference. plugs can make a big difference if the ones in the car are old. many people will not change all of the plugs because they are not easy to change. can cause anger and bleeding even sometimes drunkiness. lol. change em all. lol.

Nah, if you have the right tools for the job, the plugs are no big deal.

I have megnacor wires... I will never have to replace them... ever. Stock plugs are best for a tune up - they are recommended by GM for a reason. Like craby said, do a flush of the radiator and heater core... also, make sure you purge it (get all the air out)- or the flush will have been a waste of time and money.

can you smell coolant? or see any leaking coolant? or are you having to top off the redactor at all. I had a problem with my heat too come to find out i was leaking coolant from the timing cover. lost all most all heat. what im trying to get to is if you have any leak some where you can loose your heat.. libertyforall1976 that article is awesome. is there anything like that for the 3.4?

Not that I'm aware of, but you can apply the general principles to the 3.4L too...
