Intake manifold gasket? Injector #6? Fuel check valve? Fuel pressure regulator?
I'll try to start at the beginning. Have a cylinder 6 misfire caused by faulty or clogged injector that I know already. Car started to be difficult to crank and acting as if there was air in the lines (would surge slightly shortly after starting and wouldn't start unless you moved some gas through the lines) then it started idling rough (bouncing rpms [maybe the air in the lines] and would sometimes start and then die after a second or two) then it started smoking and smelling strongly of gas (best example--this morning I started the car and made a round trip of 0.7 miles,, smoke was all outside the car and even coming inside the cabin before I got out of my driveway,, by the time I got back- NO SMOKE none) if I go outside right now and start the car it will start right up first time and smell of gas and have an extremely faint white smoke coming out of the tail pipe, runs sluggish and surges very slightly at times. 1997 Camaro RS V6 thank all of you for the help you've helped me several times with this car I'm truly enjoying the journey
take the oil dipstick out and smell the oil at the end. if it smells of gas you better change your oil. download the factory service manual for your year it will help you I hope as much as they have me. brb
I'll try to start at the beginning. I’ve got a cylinder 6 misfire caused by a faulty or clogged injector, specifically 0445110369, that I know already. The car started to be difficult to crank and acted as if there was air in the lines, would surge slightly shortly after starting and wouldn't start unless you moved some gas through the lines, then it started idling rough, bouncing RPMs, maybe due to air in the lines, and would sometimes start and then die after a second or two. It then started smoking and smelling strongly of gas. For example, this morning I started the car and made a round trip of 0.7 miles; smoke was all outside the car and even coming inside the cabin before I got out of my driveway, but by the time I got back, no smoke. If I go outside right now and start the car, it will start right up first time, smell of gas, and have an extremely faint white smoke coming out of the tailpipe, runs sluggish, and surges very slightly at times. 1997 Camaro RS V6. Thank all of you for the help, you’ve helped me several times with this car and I’m truly enjoying the journey.
