I recently put an HAI on my Jeep Liberty, and now it sometimes takes longer for the engine to idle back down to normal when coming to a stop. My thinking (theory) is perhaps my IAT sensor is reading a colder flow of air than it was before and I'm getting a momentary cold engine fast idle. That, or my idle air control picked an awful coincidental time to start effing up! Mine at least comes back down, sounds like yours is remaining high?

yes it stays high. just finished giving it a gasket job from the heads on up. Also headers and a cai. i was thinking vacum leak but sheet metal over TB kills engine. sprayed around all gaskets with starting fluid. So i cleaned idle speed did nothing. unplugged maf and it dropped to 750 . So i pulled off cold air from throttle body plugged in maf started it and idled at 1100 has always idled right around 1100

You mean, you run with the throttle body sucking free air and then it drops?

Have you tried hooking the intake tube back up, and removing just the filter to see what it does?

Not sure yet, brain hasn't jumped that far ahead!
Process of elimination first.
