There isnt much you can really do to the 96 RS, i think SLP made one CAI but its $300, pretty much all you can do is cat back
There is ALOT more than you think.
You think i haven't looked into it? there aren't to many bolt-ons and after that its pointless to do internals/turbo or sc because with that kind of money you might as well just buy an LS1

Some of us would have bought an LS1 if we wanted to buy one. I bought my V6 as a little project. I've had one before and it was a dependable car. I'mdon'tneed the ginormous amount of horsepower and torque like the OMG LS1 offers. What you might find pointless, others might find worth it or satifsying. Not everyone has a limited budget and time. Most do however, so financially it would make sense to get an LS1 in lieu of building up a sixxer.

If you get lucky, you might come accross a used hypertech programmer. I've been searching, and they are difficult to come by. Hypertech discontinued them a while ago, you might find a company that has one still laying in their warehouse, but that is a very thin chance.

Hypertech programmers are overpriced for what little they do.

that is true, but I think you can at least remove the top speed program, and change the rev limiter. I may be wrong, but it's still cheaper than sending in your computer for a reprogram.
