Im desperate!
Can someone please tell me what the source of that winding noise my 2000 3.8 makes? It drives me carzy. I was so close to purchasing a Z28 today and someone bought it before i could get back to the dealership. The only reason why i want a Z28 is cause they sound so nice! So since im still with my car i want to get rid of the winding noise more than ever. It almost seems as if no one knows. Is there anyone who can help me? Thanks.

RE: Im desperate!
More than likely, its your rear end. Does it get louder when you go around corners? If so, its either a wheel bearing or your ring and pinion. Check your rearend fluid level. Those rearends suck and like to wear out quickly. Look under your car at the front of the differential. Thats where the drive shaft bolts to the rearend. If its all wet or black and filthy, you are leaking fluid from the pinion seal. Easy job to replace if you have the tools. If you dont want to fix it, buy a kick *** stereo and turn it up loud!!!!!!

regular maintanence??? I have babied all three of my girls and theirs no reason for all them to whine! Its just one minor flaw of my maros. I have had a vehicle with bad rear end before and it doesnt usually sound like an innocent whine...
